  Look around you

Its a wonderful colorful strange funny old world out there. When i walk around with a camera It sometimes seem this world is almost posing for a shot, smiling at me for a second.
And a second is all i need. Actually even a 350th of a second will do...
I hope these photos will give you the appetite to travel more. It's good for you. Trust me.
Now take a small virtual tour to some of the places i enjoyed in the last couple of years..

Hong Kong
Skyscraper syndrom
The island of steel and glass, towering over chinese markets and noodle steam filled streets is the juxtaposition of the traditional and the modern

Chiang Mai
Northern Green and gold
The old capital of the Lanna kingdom, situated in the green heart of the north, is a gem of pedestrian walks, traditional food in a city - village atmosphere.
Klong-toi market
Bangkok reality check
The stinking smelly hot wonderful beating heart of bangkok can be seen in this authentic produce market and the charcters who populate it

About the Writer / Photographer

i dont know many people who have not said at one point or another in their life "i wish i could travel more". well, i wish i could travel more.

Travel opens your horizons, shows you an alternative to the life you know, a different point of view.

Travel makes a person a more well rounded individual and a better citizen in this world. at least if you do it right. I know too many people who travel between boring glitzy hotels and unisex uniculture shopping malls.

in the photos i brought here, i try to find those parts of my destinations, that have survived globalization, that have some authentic look, feel and taste to them.

My wife is already used to running behind me wondering outloud why she didnt listen to her mother and married me, as i storm through dead end allies and launch myself around corners looking for potential hidden photo ops.

These photos are not "covering" the country or city i write about, and i dont usualy carry a "must see" list when i travel. You can consider these articles as my private path , my personal journey in that location.

hopefuly i will be able to add many more stories and eye candy for you during the following year.

  Yours truly
         Boaz zippor

Night and light
Urban luminatmosphere
A photographer's job is to capture light, to harness it and get a good image on the way. nighttime is the best occasion to trap that elusive light and there are no nights like Asian urban nights.
Jerusalem
Old school Holyland
A city of contradictions, of religions and of simple street life in midst of the ancient stone walls and the never ending lunacy, Jerusalem is a phenomenon, and it shows in each and every photo.
Bangkok street food special
Curbside Culinary Chaos
The variety of the street food that can be found on the streets of Bangkok is a sign of its cosmopolite nature, bringing people from all over the region, each with his own foods, his own spices and favorite snacks, combined with the reminder that in Asia the regular menu is what might be called hunger-menu. If it can be eaten, it will be eaten,. There is no place for spoiled  behavior here, sit and eat your noodles.
Muang Boran
The almost ancient city
The old city was built outside of Bangkok as a tourist attraction, but as somebody got confused about the scale, all the monuments are real size and a wondefrul place to spend a day explorying the past.

Fantastic flea fun
Nothing like a good flea market in an exotic city as beijing to get your creative juices flowing and i look at visits to such markets as part of my education, my inspiration.

Masters and modernity
Art is one of the signs of an healthy economy and a thriving culture, and the last decades brought the Chinese art market to new hights. As it is china, the fake art is blooming as well.

Longtail boat trip
The river used to be the main vein of this glorious city, and although it has lost its importance to roads and planes, you can still feel the vitality and the energy in the air

Buddhas and banisters
A refuge from the hot Bangkok day, hiding in the cool shaded temple yard or a refuge from the daily work and meditating to monks chants, temples are a nice and beautiful addition to any big city.

The old harbour

This old charming port city, famous for millennia of service to the Mediterranean and now semi retired and licking its wounds, Jaffa definitely has a story to tell .And some great local food to sell
